As part of Lowell General’s commitment to Patients First and a progressive approach to improving quality and safety for our patients, we welcome the opportunity to display our “nursing sensitive” measures and use these results to improve our care over time.
In the care that we provide to our patients, we consistently strive to keep patients safe by utilizing the most current evidenced-based practices. This includes for the prevention of falls and hospital acquired pressure injuries. Our clinical teams are constantly working to review data and decrease falls and pressure injuries by scanning the latest literature, addressing barriers, trialing new products and educating staff. We have consistently used Root Cause Analysis as an improvement tool for these events.
There are instances when all known safety and preventative interventions have been implemented yet these types of events still occur. Our efforts to prevent these incidents remains unwavering with the goal of fully eliminating them.
